| Cold Mountain and Shining Rock area in Pisgah National Forest |

This is a new area to me. It's in the Shining Rock Wilderness area and the trails are not well marked. Especially around Shining Rock itself. On the Route profile below there is a dip down and back up before the long hike down. That's us going the wrong way.
I brought along a GPS and here are some images.
